Are your children interested in learning, having fun and getting outdoors? If so, 1st Dural Scouts are have some vacancies in their Joey Section for 6 to 8 year old girls and boys.
The emphasis is on fun and friendship and a gentle introduction to a world of challenges and adventures through Scouting. Joey Scouts are encouraged to express themselves creatively, through games, stories and craft activities.
Building monsters and spaceships from scrap items, growing plants from seedlings or singing songs together all develop a strong sense of belonging. It’s more than school as it extends each child’s understanding of the world around them.
Joeys learn how to recognise native birds and animals and develop an understanding of the impact of our modern world on the environment.
Joeys are taught to jump in and help other people and to share with their friends.
They wear a special scarf and t-shirt so everyone knows they are Joey Scouts.
They enjoy visits to special places such as the local fire station or the zoo and visitors to their meetings create more excitement.
Joey Scouts meet once a week, in the Scout Hall at Galston.
Joeys, as part of Scouts Australia, is a multicultural, multi-faith organisation, which focuses on the development of the whole child as a member of our society. More than anything, Joeys is about having fun! Interested parents contact Lukas (M) 0414 338078 [email protected]
