When the COVID-19 lockdown began in Thailand, there were people in Phuket who didn’t qualify for government support or were abandoned, with no way to reach out, no money, no support, and no end to their starvation insight.

Particularly, the situation of guest construction workers is desperate.

The Rotary Club of West Pennant Hills and Cherrybrook is supporting the Rotary Club of Patong Beach (in Thailand) to provide food and support for these abandoned people.

The local organizations are doing the footwork. They need a transparent way to receive the funds that are required to buy rice, canned goods, eggs, water that these people need.

The Rotary Club of Patong Beach is receiving donations and paying directly for goods. The club will ensure that funds are accurately accounted for according to Rotary International financial integrity rules.

Every cent counts. These people are not getting any support from anyone else.

The RC West Pennant Hills and Cherrybrook are supporting this project as part of our International commitment to making the world a better place, and will ensure that there is accountability for all funds sent for this project.

Our problems in Australia are important, but the situation for these poor people also deserves your urgent support. Donations may be made to: Rotary Club of West Pennant Hills and Cherrybrook BSB 633 000 Bendigo Bank Account Number 165 073 115
