Glenhaven Brigade held our Annual General Meeting in April. 2018 was our 67th year of service to the community and it saw our operational callouts almost double from the previous year.
Glenhaven had 63 callouts which included automatic fire alarms, fires and explosions, hazardous substances, and motor vehicle accidents (as compared to last year’s 34 incidents).
We also assisted a number of other brigades and communities across Sydney, NSW and Australia on operational deployments. Our AGM was an opportunity to thank all Officers and members for their participation in the brigade. Being a member is about more than firefighting. We have members involved in Training, Community Engagement, Membership, Station Operations, Mitigation, Equipment Maintenance and many other specialist roles.
All of these are needed to ensure the brigade runs efficiently. If you are interested in volunteering please contact us via Facebook or email [email protected] The Larapinta Hazard Reduction is postponed due to poor weather conditions. Until it can go ahead you will still see us working in other areas of Glenhaven to make the community safer.
The official Bush Fire Danger Period has ended in The Hills but we must all still be fire aware.
