Glenhaven Brigade held their annual Get Ready Weekend Event on Sunday 23rd September at Glenhaven Station. Approximately 170 local residents visited the station to learn how to be prepared for the current bushfire season and to meet their local RFS volunteers. $250 was raised for NSW drought relief through our sausage sizzle and curry lunch.

The key message of the day was that all residents should make a bushfire survival plan NOW! Not only is it important to make a plan, it’s even more important to know when your survival plan is to kick in. How fireproof is your plan?

If you have ever seen an RFS unit and thought about getting involved, there’s no better time than now! We are always open to new members, who represent the diverse nature of our community.
