Federal Member for Berowra, Julian Leeser MP was joined by Federal, State and local colleagues this morning to learn practical suicide prevention skills through Lifeline’s ground-breaking safeTALK training session.
“Suicide is one of the great challenges that Australia faces. It affects us all. By starting with Members of Parliament and Mayors, I hope to encourage other leaders in our community to also undertake the safeTALK training and help to reduce the alarming rate of suicide in our society,” Mr Leeser said.
Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury CEO Wendy Carver said the ground-breaking safeTALK training session has seen more than 10 Parliamentarians and local Mayors come together to learn practical suicide prevention skills.
