Looking for ways to keep the kids entertained this summer? Hornsby Shire Council’s school holiday program is filled with fun, low-cost activities for the whole family to enjoy.
A particularly active option is the Mambara Track bushwalk, which is tailored for preschoolers. The walk will be followed by various craft activities at the community nursery. Get the kids away from the iPad and TV with the Summer Reading Club.
The free reading club will give children an incentive to read over the holidays and an opportunity to win great prizes. An exciting magic show, performed by illusionist Jack Sharp, will be the perfect start to the Summer Reading Club. The Christmas Pantomime is back at Hornsby and Pennant Hills libraries, with the stage show Santa of the Never Never. This entertaining showcase follows colourful characters on their quest to help Santa when he is stranded with Rudolph at Uluru.
The Jeral Puppets is another great show the kids will love, bursting with traditional fairy tales and nursery rhymes. The large and colourful puppets will offer a unique learning experience that’s not to be missed. If your kids love to dance and make music, Junkyard Beats will keep them entertained. The innovative workshop combines rhythm with movement and drumming, using instruments made from recyclable material. No matter what you’re looking for you will find it among Hornsby Shire Council’s school holiday activities.
