It is nearly time for The Rotary Club of West Pennant Hills and Cherrybrook’s Annual Trivia night.
This year the money raised will all go toward drought relief in New South Wales. Our target is to raise at least $5000 for the Rotary District 9685 Drought Relief Project. This project is being coordinated by the Rotary Club of Wahroonga. The money raised will go toward providing hay, diesel for hay transport, water and food hampers to drought affected farmers.
As an example of what the money raised can buy Rural Aid’s Buy a Bale program (https://www.buyabale.com.au/our-story/) says
• $20 buys a small bale of hay and helps transport it to the affected areas
• $60 buys 3 x $20 gift cards to help put food on the table
• $110 buys a large bale of hay
• $550 buys 5 large bales of hay
• $1100 buys 10 large bales of hay
• $5700 buys a single-trailer load of hay
• $9500 buys a semi-trailer load of hay and transport it to an affected area. (up to 900 km)
Drought relief is required throughout the State including in areas just outside of Sydney. The latest Drought Statement from the Bureau of Meteorology shows that large areas of the state have recorded very low rainfall since April 2017.
These include a vast region stretching from the Northern Tablelands, around through the North West and Central West, and down through parts of the Hunter, Greater Sydney to the Southern Tablelands and South Coast. Please come along to our Trivia night and donate to helping our farmers and their communities. These are the people who provide much of our daily food so lets get behind them and support this worthy cause.
The Trivia night is on 25th August, at 6.30 for a 7pm start the Cherrybrook Community Centre, Shepherds Drive, Cherrybrook.
Bring along your friends and some wine/nibbles to make a table of 8 or just come along yourself and join another table. Tickets are $20 each. Bookings are essential on 0468 330 667 or email email@example.com. More details on www.wphcrotary.org/2018-trivia-night.
